First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Heritage Bank (WA).
Bank Teller
The process started with a phone call from the manager, where they asked if I would accept a lower salary than advertised. Then, I was invited for an in-person interview in Bellevue. The interview, longer than the initially stated 30 minutes, lasted an hour and a half with two managers. They had a list of over 40 questions. Despite it being for a temporary, minimum wage, 3-month position with no benefits, they asked many questions. I felt they were very interested in hiring me. Following the interview, I received several emails requesting a background check, employment verification, and at least 5 references. It seems they only contacted one of my references before calling me back to ask for the dates of my previous jobs. Today, I received a generic rejection email, and they will move forward with other candidates without any explanation.

The hiring process was unprofessional. I had three interviews. The hiring manager offered me the job and asked for 5 references, which I provided along with employment verification. A few days later, I received an email stating they decided to move forward with another candidate. This felt like a waste of time, especially since I had other offers and had asked them to wait. It was a bad experience.
- Could you introduce yourself and elaborate on your strengths?
Software Developer
It was a 3-round interview process. The first round was with the manager for about 30 minutes, covering my resume and the job description. Then, a second 30-minute round with two front-end engineers where we talked about the role, job fit, and my resume projects. The last round was with the manager. Unfortunately, I wasn't selected because they couldn't offer visa sponsorship, which was a surprise since they confirmed they would in the beginning. The team seemed nice though.
- Can you tell me about a project you were involved in?
Customer Service Associate
I applied for the job on craigslist. Got a call a few days later for a quick phone interview about my customer service and cash handling experience. The branch manager then asked for an in-person interview, and they were flexible with my schedule. In the in-person interview, the branch manager and assistant manager interviewed me together. They had questions written down. A week later, they offered me the part-time role because someone else got the full-time one. After my background check cleared a week later, I got the job.
- Can you share an instance where you handled a challenging customer interaction and how you resolved it?
