First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Heritage Architecture.
Junior Architect
The interviewer was super nice. They looked over my portfolio and asked about my previous work. They also wanted to gauge my understanding of the company and my long-term aspirations within Heritage.
- Can you share how you first got into architecture?
- Walk me through your work experience.
- What are your career goals moving forward?
Technical Designer
The interview process was very positive. They made great effort not to intimidate, and were quite diplomatic. Being a small firm, Heritage has the interview process down to a science, make sure you are prepared to handle a strong force, but be sure to remember they are on your side and will help make the situation comfortable for you.
- Which Heritage project did you like and why?
- What portfolio work can you say is 100% your own professional work?
Project Manager
My first interaction was supposed to be a phone interview, scheduled via email. The interviewer never called, so I left a message. Three days later, I got an email rescheduling, but without any apology. We set up a second call, but again, no-show. After waiting nearly an hour past the scheduled time, I called and was told I'd get a call in 30 minutes. We finally spoke then. Afterward, we arranged an in-person meeting. During the in-person interview, the questions felt very scripted. A few days later, I got a consulting offer. Honestly, I was unemployed and feeling pretty desperate at that point.
- Can you share some of your past experiences?
Architectural Designer
On the interview day, I went through the interview process. I described my resume experiences in detail and took a tour of the office. It was a good experience. My interviewer was much more interested in professional experience than academic projects.
- What motivates you to want to work with us?
- Can you describe the projects you completed in your previous role?
