I just had my initial phone call with the recruiter. Because I need visa sponsorship, he told me the next step is to get confirmation from the immigration department about the sponsorship.

The whole interview was over the phone with my current Program Manager and the Lab officials at the site. After that, they told me I was one of the most pleasant interviewees and that they'd like to offer me the job. I was told HR would be in touch in a few days, and within a week, the offer was sent, negotiated, and I accepted it and moved from Maryland to Ohio. It was very smooth.

I had my interview with the lab I applied to within 2 weeks. I put together a presentation of my research, then answered questions about it, and finally met the Principal Investigator and his staff. The whole thing took about 3 hours. I got an offer about a week later. It felt like a pretty standard process.
