Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Henry M. Jackson Foundation.
Program Manager
Had 4 interviews, each lasting about 1-1.5 hours. Spoke with 2-3 recruiters from HJF. Waited almost 2 months for an update. It felt like a waste of time, not very competitive, and suggests high turnover and burnout. My questions about work culture and work-life balance weren't well-received.
- Can you explain your motivation for seeking employment with this organization?
Program Manager
Had several rounds of interviews. First a recruiter call, then an interview about my experience. After that, a practical test where I had to find errors in a workplan. Then a panel interview with scenario-based questions, and finally a 30-minute chat with a director.
- What do you find most and least exciting about this role?
Program Manager
I met with 6 people total on 2 zoom calls. It was very thorough and had an opportunity to ask questions. Then I was invited to visit the lab and meet more folks. Very friendly.
- How would you fit in?
