Behavioral Presentation

So first, I had an online interview with a panel of people, that was earlier in the spring. Then I had an initial interview with the department head and a few other people. Then eventually I had an interview with the individual school in person in July, as the school year was approaching.

Behavioral Technical

Got a call about three weeks after applying. The admin who called was super nice. There was only one interview session. I did some research online about common teacher interview questions to get ready. The panel was made up of three people, and they were all really friendly and kept things pretty relaxed. The hiring manager started by explaining the job and how they encourage professional development. They asked about ten questions in total. It wasn't strictly a behavioral interview. My advice for anyone interviewing would be to be friendly, have some questions ready to ask them at the end, and make good eye contact. It felt like they were really trying to understand my background and experiences and how they'd fit with the role.

Presentation Behavioral Case

I had to do a presentation about myself to the panel, so I made a PowerPoint and brought handouts. I also had to write a short essay about how I would help students who are struggling. I've never taught before, so I'm not sure I did great on the remediation part, but I think my presentation went well. I never heard back from the school about whether I got the job, which was disappointing after putting so much effort into my presentation. Now I'm questioning if I even want to work for a district that doesn't inform candidates about their status.

Behavioral Presentation

It was a panel interview with three interviewers, they were administrators and a department leader. They seemed friendly and asked about my views on classroom management and teaching technique. The interviewers asked questions in a round robin style and had to stick to scripted questions because it was an HR formality. All interviewers took notes while I was speaking. The interview lasted about 30 minutes.
