Paid Media Specialist
I was reached out to via Indeed to set up an initial interview. The preliminary screening felt rushed, and she was noticeably rude throughout. She said she would follow up with next steps, but after a week of silence, my polite follow-up email went unanswered. This unprofessional experience raises serious concerns about the company's respect for candidates and overall ethics.
- What is the difference between CPC and CPM?
SEO Analyst
We start with a quick 15-30 min video call. If that goes well, the next step is a 30 min video chat with the hiring manager to get into more detail about your fit, skills, and background.
- When faced with pushback on your requests, how do you navigate the situation?
Content Editor
The initial interview was quite relaxed. I got a positive response a couple of hours later, and they asked me to set up a second interview. I replied really quickly, but then didn't hear back for four days, which, coincidentally, was the day the interview was supposed to happen. I finally got the invite around 10:30 am for a 12 pm interview, which I accepted quickly. But then at 11:09 am, they canceled it. After that, I was told I needed to do an SEO editing test before they'd consider a second interview. I had already rearranged my schedule for the canceled interview. Nobody even apologized for the major inconvenience. I looked at the 'test' they sent, and it had pretty much no instructions, so I decided it wasn't worth my time. I'm honestly glad I got a sense of what Hennessey Digital is like before I wasted more time. I'd definitely steer clear of interviewing with them; the lack of respect shown to me probably reflects how they treat their employees.
- Can you outline the process you follow when editing an article?
SEO Content Writer
All interviews were done through zoom. The first interview was pretty chill and I felt good about it. About an hour later, I got an email saying they wanted to move me to the next step and have me write a test article. After I wrote the test article, I got another email saying I'd have one final interview. I went to the 2nd interview thinking I had it in the bag. But within the first 5 minutes, I knew it wasn't going to happen. The 2nd interviewer asked pretty much the exact same questions the first one did. She asked about how I write SEO articles, how I find keywords, and things like that. It would have been fine, but since I had already answered these questions, I was caught off guard and got flustered. I couldn't think straight and the interview went downhill. It was my fault. The interviewer seemed nice and said I'd get a decision in a few days. She also said if I didn't hear anything by the end of the week, I could reach out. After waiting a week, I didn't hear back. I emailed them but never got a response. It's fine I didn't get the job, but I put in a lot of time and effort, so I thought I'd at least get an email saying they chose someone else. Instead, I was ghosted. And the interviewer knew I was pausing my job search with other companies until I heard back from them. It was just unprofessional.
