Product Manager
The interview process had 2 stages. The first interview was with the hiring manager to confirm my competencies and knowledge. The second interview was with the hiring manager, department head and HR, where I had to answer questions and give a presentation on a set topic to the interview panel, often showing understanding of the role or how to approach a certain scenario.
- Why are you interested in this role?
Sourcing Manager
It started with an initial screening with HR over Teams, a pretty chill chat about my background, why I wanted the job, when I could start, and what I was looking for salary-wise. They also gave me a rundown of the company and what the role entails. Then I had a chat with the Hiring Manager, also on Teams. This was more laid-back, a real back-and-forth. They explained the role and team stuff, and I talked about myself and what I want in my career. It felt like we were just getting to know each other. Next up was an SHL assessment, which was a personality test, basically to see how I'd fit in culturally rather than if I knew the technical stuff. They said there's no right or wrong answers, just be yourself. I liked that they shared my results and explained what they meant for the role and team. The last part was a case study where I had to prep something and present it to a panel, followed by a competency-based interview. The questions were about real job stuff, like working with people, solving problems, and making choices. The panel was really nice and seemed genuinely interested in how I thought and what I'd done.

Logistics Coordinator
I was first contacted by the HR manager over the phone. Then, a video call was scheduled with just the hiring manager. A few days later, I had a final interview with both the HR manager and the hiring manager. They seemed really impressed with me, both personally and professionally. However, I didn't hear back for weeks, so I emailed them twice for feedback. To my surprise, I received a generic rejection email with no specific feedback. I asked for it directly but am still waiting. I doubt I'll ever get a response, which is disappointing coming from a large company like Hempel.
- What is your experience with supply chain and logistics?
- Can you describe your personality and leadership style?
Talent Acquisition Partner
Started with a quick 5-minute screen call asking about availability and salary. Then a long wait with no updates for a month because the recruiter was on holiday. The next interview was pleasant, no tough questions, but I was rejected after 3 weeks with a vague 'wishing best of luck' message and no specific reason. My feedback request to the recruiter went unanswered. The job then reappeared online, presumably because the initial offer was declined. I tried to get reconsidered by reaching out again (no response), applying with a different email (no response). Complete ghosting is unacceptable and shows laziness. This was a terrible candidate experience.
