First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Helping Hand.
Personal Care Aide
They hired me on the spot and told me I'd hear back in 2-3 weeks. The questions were easy, and the director was very nice. I'm hoping to hear back soon.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- What are your strengths?
Direct Support Professional
The interview process is good. Management wants to get to know the person and then let them know how they can contribute to the company. The interview can be 30 mins or so.
- Have you had experience working with individuals with disabilities?
- What particular skills do you possess that you can offer to the company?
- Where do you envision yourself in the next five years?
Development Associate
Applied online and heard back from a recruiter in about a week. The initial call was laid-back and conversational, focusing on my past experience and my interest in the company. After that, I was invited for an in-person interview. I met with the hiring manager for the role and the Director, both of whom were friendly and provided good insights into the company and the position. My main issue was with how the hiring process was communicated. I had to follow up multiple times with the recruiter for an update and only got one response. After waiting another two weeks to reach out again, I didn't hear back. While I'm fine with not getting the job, it would be courteous to inform candidates about their status.
- Can you discuss your previous professional experience?
- What motivates your interest in joining our company?
Residential Trainer
the interview was super friendly and chill, they asked typical questions, and went over the job duties. you gotta have your high school diploma, even if you graduated ages ago. they also check your driving record to make sure it's clean. quick heads up, if you mess with illegal substances, don't bother coming in, 'cause they do drug tests right after.
- Tell me about how you interact with adults who have disabilities.
