First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Helix.
Software Engineer
First I talked to the recruiter, then I did a coding interview. After that, I had a screening call with the hiring manager. The final part was a virtual onsite, which included three interviews with business partners and one architectural interview with a principal engineer.
- What's your approach to designing this system with serverless technologies?
- How do you handle juggling multiple project priorities?
- Could you share an example of a project you recently managed from start to finish?
Software Engineer
The interview was split into three parts. First, there was a standard HR interview. Second, a small coding challenge. Lastly, a virtual onsite round with three interviews: one for architecture, one for programming logic, and a final one with the team managers to check for fit. The whole onsite is on the same day, which is quite tiring.
- They give you a problem and ask you to design an architecture for it, and then they add more requirements and you have to make the changes.
Software Engineer
I did a hackerrank challenge first, then they said I would have a live coding interview. But then I didn't get any email with the link for the codepair or google hangout when it was time. A few days later they sent a follow up email and we rescheduled. During the rescheduled interview, there were 2 other candidates in the hangout and the engineer never showed up. The CodePair links they sent me didn't work and were old.
- Problems from the Hackerrank challenge.
