First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Heinens.
Front End Associate
The interview process was easy and conversational, designed to gauge my fit with Heinens philosophy and mystique. However, I was surprised by the job duties, as they weren't fully explained upfront. I ended up having to clean bathrooms, mop floors, and push carts in addition to cashier duties.
- Tell me about your previous experience in retail settings.
Cashier
The interview process was welcoming and informative, and I didn't feel nervous at all because everyone was super nice. Just remember customer service, customer service, customer service! It's a family-oriented company. I would work here again if needed.
- Tell me about your previous customer service experience.
Marketing
They asked me to create and present a marketing plan, including website recommendations and a full blog post. This would have involved visiting two of their stores. I felt this was a big waste of time, especially since I have a portfolio with similar work from previous jobs. It felt like unprofessional free work. I've seen a lot of their job postings lately, which makes me think they have trouble keeping people.
- What are your salary expectations?
Payroll Specialist
My interviewer was super nice and patient. They were really clear about what they were looking for. They let me talk, then they shared their thoughts, and it felt really genuine and polite. The interviewer made me feel relaxed and comfortable talking about my background and the position.
- Can you walk me through your background?
