Great, it was a total of 3 interviews. First screening and the rest were in-person. The questions were pretty straight forward, and some technical related to the role. I would have prefered online meetings to save a bit more time.

Behavioral Case Presentation Technical

The interview process involved a preliminary phone call, followed by an in-person interview. During the in-person interview, I was given a case study to work on at the beginning and presented it to three interviewers. There was also a French and English language test. I'm rating this company poorly because I never heard back after the process, which took a significant amount of time (at least 2 hours, not including prep). I found out the position was filled when a friend mentioned seeing the new hire. For an institution like HEC, this lack of communication is unacceptable.

After you submit a few essays, you'll either get pre-approved or rejected. If you move forward, you'll talk to two different alumni who will ask about why you want to join HEC and your general fit. Then, you'll have to give a 10-minute presentation on a topic you pick, followed by a Q&A session.

The interview process was a bit challenging. It mostly involved questions about my accounting background and work history. There were also some questions asking for my perspective on accounting-related case studies. Towards the end, they asked about my personality and what I do in my free time.
