First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Heavy Hammer.
HR Generalist
The first interview was casual but informative. The second interview was purposeful and helpful in making a decision to accept a job. The overall interview process was productive. It also provided the opportunity to see the team in a typical day setting and laid clear expectations of the day to day operations.
- What are your long-term career goals for this role?
Web Developer
It was a pretty laid-back chat. They hit me with the standard stuff like why I'm interested in them and if I know their products. This company started with a software patent from way back in '99 and then let go of all their developers. Seems like they're mostly into sales now, but maybe they're trying to rebuild the tech side? Definitely some red flags. The job was advertised for a Jr. Dev at 45k, but when I asked about that, they said they could hire a college student for $10/hour. Not sure why I even bothered showing up.
- Can you recreate the design of this website?
- What makes you want to work for us?
- Are you familiar with our products?
Call Center Specialist
I interviewed with the hiring manager and the manager. I was shown around the office and got to listen to two live phone calls. Then I did the interview. Afterward, I talked more with the manager, which was a good chat. I messed up by not asking questions when they asked if I had any. I used to think that was optional, but then I learned they see it as a sign of how interested you are in the company.
- Could you introduce yourself?
Business Development
I went in for an interview and talked to the CEO. He told me a lot of stuff and it went well. Then I had a second interview and got the job. I started the next Monday and they introduced me to the sales team. I was nervous but everyone clapped and welcomed me. That was pretty cool.
- Were you asked if you had sales experience?
