First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Heartland Dental.
Management Trainee
I applied online and a few days later, I got an email saying that they were interested in speaking with me. I had a short interview over the phone where they asked basic interview questions, nothing too difficult. Then the lady scheduled me for a one-on-one interview that took place in a hotel lobby. I went home and got a call saying they want to proceed forward. They asked me to go for an observation day and sent me a list of questions that I had to answer. They also asked me to bring 10 questions and 10 references, mostly professional. On the observation day, I shadowed different employees, and it was all day. On my way home, I got a call with an offer. My advice to anyone is to have lots of questions ready at all times for you to ask. The process can be a bit long, but don't be discouraged.
- Could you tell me about three accomplishments from last year?
- What five things would you need from Heartland Dental to be successful in this role?
- How would your manager describe you?
Manager
A recruiter reached out multiple times until I agreed to an interview. I had a 1-hour Zoom call with two people who seemed important. The interview ran over by 15 minutes, and they told me what the next steps would be, saying I should expect to hear back. However, only one of them contacted me weeks later, and then there was silence. They didn't respond to my outreach. It was unprofessional. I think I dodged a bullet because if they are dishonest during hiring, who knows what else they're dishonest about. It seems like they have a lot of people leaving.
- What is your motivation for joining Heartland?
Office Manager
We set up a time to talk, and the interviewer called right on schedule. We covered a lot of ground, going over the usual requirements and any exceptions. They were really professional throughout. We also chatted about the benefits package and what growth opportunities are available. The discussion included company objectives and how we approach patient care, and it was clear they're dedicated to providing high-quality care.
- Can you tell me about your years of experience?
- What are your long term aspirations?
