Project Manager
The hiring process involved three main stages: a recruiter call to start, then a written test, and finally a virtual interview. For the written part, I had to answer questions about how I'd handle different workplace situations. After sending that in, I had the virtual interview which kicked off with a 15-minute presentation to show off my expertise to the hiring manager and some colleagues. We then had a Q&A session. After that, I went into 3-4 separate 30-minute meetings with different people I'd be working closely with, including the hiring manager and the CTO. Once they decided if I was a fit, they'd ask for references. If references checked out, they'd make an offer. If I accepted, they'd do a background check.
- What emerging technology sparks your interest the most?
Project Manager
So after the initial recruiter call, I had a chat with the CTO. Then there was this big three-hour panel interview with six folks. Before the panel, they asked me to put together a project plan example, but we actually never went over it during the meeting. The people I talked to seemed to know their stuff and were nice. It was more of a chat, not really a behavioral type of thing. Didn't hear back after the last big interview, but overall it was a good experience.
- What's your approach when dealing with challenging or upset project stakeholders?
- How do you assert your leadership position?
IT Project Manager
The interview process included: a 30-minute chat with HR/recruiter, followed by a 30-minute meeting with the hiring manager. Then there was a long 2.5 hour "on-site" (which was virtual since it was remote). During the virtual on-site, there was a 15 min intro with HR for setup and an office tour, then 30 mins with 2 team members, 30 mins with 2 other project managers, 30 mins with the hiring manager again, another 30 mins with 2 more project managers, and finally a 15 min wrap-up with HR.
- Can you describe a situation where you managed a project?
- Can you tell me about a time you successfully navigated a challenging scenario during a project?
- Describe an instance where you interacted with or managed stakeholders.
