First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at HealthSmart.
Corporate Trainer
It was a pretty basic and streamlined interview process. I arrived before the interview and went to the front desk. I did have to wait a while though, and the interview started a little late. The interviewing manager then took me to the 4th floor, and the interview was conducted in their office, one on one.
- What are your 5-year career aspirations?
- Can you share an example of a work challenge you successfully overcame?
Eligibility Specialist
Applied and got a call back from the hiring manager, set up interviews for the end of the week. Went in and met with Sondra and another lady, neither shook my hand and they barely spoke. They didn't take full notes on the behavioral questions they clearly made up on the spot and just picked at my resume about my contract positions through a temp agency. I knew by the end of the interview that I wouldn't get the position because of their preconceived notions. Four weeks later, I got a decline email.
- If a coworker is swamped and you've finished your own work, would you assist them?
Vice President
Since I was hired by someone I previously reported to, the interview process was straightforward, mainly for documentation. My hiring manager focused on detailing the current environment at HS, highlighting its similarities and differences to our past workplace. Following that, I traveled to Irving, TX, for a full day of on-site interviews with key senior management (CEO, SVPs) and some peer-level colleagues (RVPs, AVPs) within my division.
- Given that we operate remotely without a physical office, how do you envision managing your team effectively in a virtual setting?
Operations Administrator
It was a long and involved process with several stages. The interviewers were really nice and genuine. We had a panel interview which was great because I could interview them too and ask tough questions to see if it was a good fit for me. I got to understand the strategic and tactical aspects from different perspectives. Overall, a good experience.
