I got through the first four steps before I took another offer: a quick initial screen, a chat with the VP of Engineering, a take-home coding test done on my own time, and a final chat with the CTO and co-founder. The later rounds (interviews with the engineering manager, technical discussions with a staff engineer) were set up but I didn't get to them. I really enjoyed talking with everyone; the VP gave good insight into the engineering culture. The CTO conversation was fast and to the point, with tough questions and clear goals. The take-home was practical and fair. Overall, it was a positive experience.

Behavioral Technical

The interview process for this role was pretty disappointing. The initial screening felt really scripted and like they weren't really listening. I asked about strategy and specific operational challenges, but the answers were super vague and not helpful at all. It honestly felt more like they were just checking boxes instead of having a real conversation. Plus, I got an automated rejection almost immediately after I sent a personalized follow-up, which makes it seem like they'd already decided before even talking to me. My advice to management would be to make sure the people interviewing candidates actually understand the role and its strategic importance. Using a scripted approach really turns away good talent and makes the company look bad.

I sent in my application and a cover letter where I had to respond to some mock customer inquiries. After speaking with the recruiter, I had a chat with the hiring manager, then met with two team members. After that, I spoke with Tariq (COO) and Erica (CEO). Then I had another conversation with the manager. Finally, they did a reference check before extending an offer. Healthie was great at keeping me in the loop with frequent updates, checking if I had any questions, and setting up the next steps.

Behavioral Technical Case Presentation

For this job, they ask for more than a resume. You need to submit a PDF cover letter with your motivations and background. It also has to include detailed answers to real-world support scenarios. They say to be creative, be yourself, and take your time because they value good writing. I spent hours writing thoughtful answers, matching their brand's tone, and showing empathy, product thinking, and communication skills. I reviewed my writing and submitted something I was proud of because I was genuinely excited about the role. Then I got a generic rejection email with no feedback or personal touch. It's disheartening because the application feels like a job trial, but the interaction ends without acknowledgment. They tell us to act like future teammates but treat us like interchangeable applicants. It's a two-way street that only asks one side to show up fully. This disconnect is what makes job hunting so tiring, especially for people who care about their work.
