Product Manager
The interview process was pretty well organized with a series of phone and in-person interviews as well as online assessments. After an initial phone screen with a recruiter where we discussed basics about my current job, I had a series of in-person interviews with various members (~5) of the product organization from hiring manager through VP giving me the sense that every hire is an integral part of the team so fit is important. Questions centered primarily around past experience, my understanding of being a product owner in an agile workflow and different situations communicating with engineers and stakeholders. Process also involved a mock grooming with a small group of engineers.
- Can you tell me why you are considering leaving your current job?
Product Manager
It was a super long process. I think if a company has more than 6 interviews for you, they might not actually have a role open. I personally went through 12 interviews and a presentation, only to find out later that the job requisition was never even approved.
- Could you walk me through your resume?
Associate Product Manager
The whole interview process was super fast and professional. A recruiter contacted me on LinkedIn for a phone interview, which I scheduled for the next morning. After that, I got a video interview with about 5 questions that I could do on my own time, which was cool because I don't like going into the office multiple times to meet just a few people. Three days after sending in the video, the recruiter called me to come in. I went in twice. The first time, on a Friday, I had one-on-one interviews with potential colleagues. The following Monday, I was invited back to meet the team I'd be working with, do a grooming session, meet more people I'd work closely with, and have lunch with the team. Even though it was a long day, it felt productive. All the interviews were engaging, and I got a good sense of the inclusive, team-oriented culture HCS is known for. After the second interview, the recruiter kept me updated every few days. About 5 days later, the hiring manager called me with a verbal offer. It was a career change for me, and the hiring manager was really understanding about how intimidating that can be and told me to take my time. I didn't need time because my previous interactions with coworkers and the hiring manager's support convinced me it was the right move. I accepted. I was interviewing a lot then, and HealthcareSource was really accommodating, setting up interviews around my work schedule. I never felt like my time was wasted meeting people I wouldn't work with. In fact, I work with everyone I met. After 8 months, I'm still really happy with my decision to switch careers and join HealthcareSource.
