First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Health Service Executive.
Administrative
it was a good interview, just prepare for your situational questions using the STAR metrics. it was basically about running through your CV and experiences. It was actually a quick interview and it was really good. Did not feel like you are being drilled, both people who interviewed made me feel at ease
- How do you manage challenging client interactions?
- Describe your approach to scheduling tasks.
- What's your process for responding to emails?
Administrative Assistant
It's a pretty long hiring process. You'll need to fill out a detailed application where you have to explain how you meet specific competencies like communication and IT skills. Definitely think about your examples for these, because they'll ask you to discuss them in the interview. Since it was a national panel interview, there were a lot of other applicants there that day. Three interviewers were on the panel, and each one asked questions related to one or more of the competencies.
- Could you state the HSE values?
Office Administrator
First, I had to send in my CV and a cover letter. Then, I completed a detailed online questionnaire about my skills and experience related to the job. The actual interview involved a panel of three people who asked competency-based questions. It was a standard competency interview format where each interviewer asked their assigned questions.
- Can you tell me about how you handle managing multiple tasks at once?
