Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Health Career Connection.
Intern
Had a one-on-one thirty minute conversation for the first interview. Overall the interview felt more like a conversation and I would recommend preparing by practicing basic interview questions. The interview process is in two stages, with the first stage focusing more on program entry and trying to figure out which organization types might be a good fit.
- What health topics are you interested in?
- Any particular populations you're interested in serving?
Intern
Got an interview offer after applying online. They made really big claims about me being a great candidate and seemed like I was definitely getting the job, which wasn't very professional. But, the interview itself was super chill.
- Tell me about which part of public health you're interested in and the reasons for that.
Intern
I had my program interview today, but my first round with the HCC organization was a couple weeks ago. That first round went really smoothly. They make you feel comfortable because they're just trying to get to know you, figure out your passions, interests, and previous experiences. I'm not the best at interviews, but the environment was so welcoming that I wasn't as nervous as I usually am.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- What are your skills?
