They had me do a homework assignment that took me about three hours, and I had three days to send it back. They took almost two weeks to send a generic rejection. The main issue is that the homework wasn't hypothetical, they wanted me to do the whole recruiting process, like finding candidates and writing different outreach messages for one of their current open jobs. Pretty unethical, honestly.

The interview process at Headway was a letdown. First, they didn't show up to our scheduled interview and didn't say anything beforehand. When we finally talked, the interviewer was really cold and didn't seem interested. This really set the mood for the whole chat. The interview felt like it was being rushed, and the questions were all about data and numbers. I got cut off a bunch of times when I was trying to talk about myself and my background. And when I did get to answer, the interviewer's responses were clearly bored, like they were just going through the motions instead of actually seeing if I'd be a good fit. I also picked up on some worrying signs about the company: it seems like they're in the middle of a lot of changes, with new execs coming in and big shifts happening everywhere. From what I saw, the company culture isn't really set in stone yet.

The initial recruiting screen was really helpful. Because the company is pretty new, the recruiter took time to discuss the company and gave a presentation. They also let me know the salary range during the call.
