So, I applied online and got a recruiter screen in a couple of weeks. The application prompts like 'Why Headway' and 'Why This Role' were super helpful to use again. The recruiter was really nice, answered all my questions, and even went over time. They explained the whole process, timeline, and what to expect next, and it all matched the job description, even the pay transparency stuff! Honestly, Headway's process is way better than others I've experienced because it was so clear, which helped me figure out if it was a good fit for me at each stage. They also told me who would be interviewing me for each call, how they'd evaluate candidates, and gave me practice behavioral questions and links to the tools for technical screens. I had enough flexibility to schedule everything, which was great because I had to balance a busy work period, travel, and preparing. (Definitely brush up on your behaviorals to answer clearly and quickly!). The reference check is unique to Headway and serious business, but it also gave my references a good sense of the company, which helped them advise me on the offer. Overall, I felt the assessments were quick, transparent, and we were both evaluating each other.

Case Coding Behavioral Presentation

I interviewed with Headway for a data analyst position. The entire process spanned a month and included a case study and coding assessment. I felt good about it initially because they were very upfront about the interview stages and what they'd be evaluating. However, the way they ended things was unprofessional. I was in the final rounds, which involved some behavioral questions and a case study that took about 4 hours of my time. They canceled my last two interviews on the day they were supposed to happen, saying they'd reschedule based on my availability. A week passed with no updates. Then, the recruiter called to say they had hired someone else. It's frustrating that a mental health company handled this so poorly, especially after I invested so much time preparing and interviewing, only for them to pull out before the final round. It's disappointing to not even complete the process you were moved forward for.

Technical Coding Behavioral Case Presentation

The interview process was pretty straightforward and laid out well in an info packet. It started with a recruiter phone screen, followed by a SQL assessment. Then there was a 'virtual onsite' interview which included a Data Analyst case, a behavioral/culture fit chat, and an interview focused on cross-functional collaboration. A manager Q&A was also part of it, though it wasn't for evaluation. The process was managed well and efficiently. My interviews with the data team felt positive from a candidate perspective; the interviewers were friendly and supportive. Most of them were newer to the team (<2 years). However, the cross-functional interview was a stark contrast. After the first question, it got bogged down in technical details of a project I discussed. The interviewer heavily critiqued my work for over half the interview, which threw me off since it was supposed to be about collaboration. It felt like it strayed from its purpose and became an interrogation. This pattern continued with another project, making it feel more like a critique session than a collaborative conversation. I was disappointed after this part, especially since my experience with the data team had been positive. Ultimately, I didn't get an offer. The recruiter called the next day to let me know. While I appreciate the personal touch for feedback, it would be better to clarify the call's purpose beforehand to avoid candidate anxiety.
