Associate
A few rounds of interviews, nice and simple. You need to have the qualification to apply. Be knowledgeable about the industry. Nothing very complicated. Steady work schedule and breaks. Good workplace.
- Do you have the technical qualification?
Medical Technologist
The interview was brief and standard. The manager read questions from a paper and tried to take notes, but they weren't keeping up because their note-taking skills aren't great. There wasn't much input from them, and they didn't ask any further questions. They seemed uninterested.
- Tell me about a time you had to handle a difficult coworker and what you did about it.
Mass Spec Lab Technician/Chemist
I got called in for an interview about 2 days after applying online. It was a panel interview with 4 managers. They asked about my GC/MS and lab experience, and also my flexibility with work schedules. They really dug into questions about how I handled situations at my previous jobs, like problem-solving when I was working alone. They also put a lot of emphasis on asking how well I knew the 'personality' of their company, like how they uniquely interact with clients and meet their needs. The whole thing took about 15 minutes. After that, I got a tour of the lab and met different employees in a really dynamic way, which was pretty fun.
- Could you explain everything there is to know about mass spectrometry?
- Can you detail your experience with mass spectrometry and gas chromatography?
- Tell me about your general laboratory work experience.
Intern
The whole interview process took a few days. It was kind of messy, and felt like they hadn't interviewed many people because most of it seemed like they made it up as they went along. When I met the hiring manager, they took me around to meet the rest of the department. Everyone I met asked me about my experience with specific technologies, especially SQL Server and relational databases.
- Can you explain how to join two tables using a partial key?
