Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at HCVT.
Tax Accountant
It was 2 rounds total. All behaviorals. First you have a screening with the recruiter. Then the second round is with a partner, a principal, and then a Q&A with a manager and an associate.
- Describe a situation where you received criticism.
Tax Accountant
I interviewed for the Staff Accountant 2024 position at HCVT. It felt like the interviewer was more focused on impressing her manager than having a real conversation. She seemed determined to show off her recruiting skills, which made it tough for me to really talk about what I can do. I got a vibe like a typical toxic corporate place, even before getting an offer. Interviews should let people show what they're good at, so it's fair for everyone. As a first-gen immigrant, I didn't feel super welcomed, especially when they asked if I needed a visa, even though I said on my application I don't.
- Can you work overtime?
- When do you think you'll be eligible for CPA certification?
- Are you planning on going to the same university for your master's degree?
Senior Accountant
They first called for a 30 min initial interview going over the basics then, it was followed up with a 2 hour panel interview with four individuals back to back.
- Why are you leaving your current firm.
