Technical

There were two technical interviews. The first was with HCL, covering Ansible and Linux. I was asked to write a playbook for an Apache web server and some basic Linux questions. The second interview was with the client and focused on basic Linux questions. There were also some basic Jenkins questions about how to run a job.

Behavioral Technical

The interview experience felt unserious, perhaps even chaotic. I spoke with someone who identified as a manager but had difficulty communicating in English. The questions were theoretical rather than practical, suggesting a lack of hands-on experience. Despite this, the interviewer indicated they would pass my CV to the client, mentioning strong client support for my background as a car... something. Shortly after, I learned the project was canceled. It felt like a waste of two hours. I suspect they are a recruitment agency, taking a cut of the work. My advice is to thoroughly vet the recruitment details, including the team and project phase, before engaging. It's good I didn't proceed with them. Also, a note about the interviewers being Indian: proceed with caution and check reviews if you haven't worked with them before.
