Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at HCL.
Business Analyst
Had a telephone discussion, followed by an aptitude test. Then, a virtual technical discussion, a managerial discussion, and an HR discussion. Finally, there was an in-person discussion. The team was great and provided good info. The venue was easy to find, had a wonderful atmosphere, and the team was supportive.
- Can you tell me about your experience as a BA?
- How do you handle customers?
- Are you open to working in shifts?
Business Analyst
Had 1 HR chat and 2 technical rounds. The company's HR was really bad, they'd call for interviews with just 2 hours notice and no contact person. They disappeared for a month after the interviews, then suddenly called saying I was selected and started salary negotiations. They vanished again and took weeks to send an offer letter, and the HR contact wouldn't answer calls. It really showed the company's poor culture and accountability.
- Could you describe your project?
- What is your process for requirement gathering?
Business Analyst
There were 2 rounds in total. After clearing the first round, they scheduled and confirmed the second round five days later. The panel for the second round just joined a Teams call and stated they were looking for someone with more experience, without asking any questions. This made me feel like the interview was just for show.
- Can you explain how to calculate team velocity?
