Intern
We have three rounds for this interview. First, you'll chat with HR for an initial screening. Then, you'll have a more in-depth talk with the hiring manager. Finally, you'll meet with the whole team for a comprehensive panel interview.

Data Engineer
The interview process involved two technical rounds. The first round had 2 Python and SQL questions, specifically focusing on SQL for deleting duplicates from a table. It also covered data modeling concepts like star schema and slowly changing dimensions, and Spark optimization techniques. The second round was more behavioral, asking about a past project, challenges encountered, and data quality.
- Can you explain how to construct a streaming data pipeline?
Software Engineer
Started with a recruiter chat, which was pretty fun and helpful, giving me lots of info. Then a technical interview that was also enjoyable. The interviewer thought I did well on the coding part, saying my code ran and that the problem was interesting but not too hard. We had a good chat afterwards. Got positive immediate feedback. But then, two days later, a rejection with no explanation. I emailed the recruiter for more info and got no response for a week, even while they were emailing me for feedback on the experience. After chasing them with two more emails, the feedback they eventually gave was vague and didn't relate to my skills for the job, just that I was unfamiliar with technical coding interviews. This really messed up my whole impression.
- Could you rearrange an array of numbers in a new, but specifically defined, manner?

So the HBO interview process included 4 main rounds. First was a 30 min call with HR. Then, a 45 min technical screen. After that, there were multiple rounds with the Hiring Manager and other team members, followed by a final round with the director. The entire thing dragged on for over 4 months. They kept rescheduling interviews, and the HR was super slow in getting back with results. Honestly, it felt unprofessional and like they didn't value my time. Overall, a really bad experience.
