HB Communications Interview Questions
& Process

The interview process was straightforward and the people were friendly. It took some time to get a response, but overall it went well. I ultimately accepted a different offer, but I plan to stay in contact. It seemed like a decent place to work.

The interview process was pretty standard, nothing too out of the ordinary. I was a bit nervous at first, but they were really good at making me feel comfortable. It turned into a really nice conversation, which is basically how the interview went. I really liked their chill, human approach.

So the interview process was initially supposed to have 3 separate interview sessions. The first one involved the VP of HB Live who asked me some initial questions about my experience in audio visual and what I have done previously. We then arranged for another interview in which we were joined by other staff of HB Live who quizzed me on various connector types and asked me to identify what certain pieces of technology are used for. During the second interview, I was given a tour of the facility and warehouse area where they discussed the day to day tasks and different equipment that warehouse technicians generally deal with. Following the second interview, there was supposed to be one more additional interview or at least a follow up email of their decision but never received any other details or update.

I interviewed for the job and then got called back 6 weeks later for a second interview. After that, the hiring manager called and said I was being offered the job and an offer letter would be coming. It took 2 weeks to get the offer letter. I spoke to the HR Director about benefits and vacation in the offer letter and she said she'd check with the hiring manager and get back to me soon about benefits. I never heard back, so I called (she never picked up or returned my calls) and emailed her a lot. She finally emailed back saying HB Communications chose someone else because they couldn't meet my requirements and wished me luck. I never gave requirements, I just asked for paid and/or unpaid vacation time because this company doesn't give any until after 1 year. This company and the HR director, Allison, need to learn some respect and professionalism! And to think it's okay to not offer any vacation for a whole year should have been a red flag that this company doesn't care about work/life balance.
