So, there was a take-home test, which was honestly ambigious in a bad way, like amateurishly set up by their "core team". Honestly, their "core team" seems like regular Java devs, but the job description talks about JVM internals. Maybe that's why Redis is so important to them? It's a joke, these "api" type Java devs who've never done anything serious set it up, and the review was also ridiculous. If you're a serious JVM person, just avoid this place.

First I had an initial call and then a technical interview. I passed both with really positive feedback. After that, I completed a tech test and then had a meeting to walk through the test with some engineers. I passed that too and they said I was a good fit for the team that interviewed me. Then things slowed down for a few days, and I was told I had to interview with another team. This interview was about DevOps skills, which they only told me at the very start of the interview. This new team, which I wouldn't even be joining, decided I didn't have the necessary DevOps skills. That was the end of the process.

Had a 30 min interview with HR that went well. They said they wanted to set up another meeting with the manager in the office and asked for my availability. I gave them 3 days that didn't work because the manager was off. So I gave them another 3 days the next week. I didn't hear back, so I sent a follow-up 9 days later and still no response. A while later, I got an auto-email that they were proceeding with other candidates. I don't know what happened trying to set up the second interview, but I wish I'd at least gotten a personal response from HR.

So back in 2020, I went through their interview process. It took a while because I think they didn't have a dedicated recruiter, and the team lead was the one handling communication. The process included two interviews focused on concurrency and JMM, plus two pretty challenging take-home assessments. I actually enjoyed the interview process despite it being a bit lengthy.
