First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Hays Companies.
Benefits Analyst
Had an easy phone interview first. Then, I had an in-person interview that I felt went really well. They told me they would call me the following Monday to arrange the next steps. Unfortunately, I never heard back from them. I tried emailing and calling, and left a voicemail. It's really disappointing and rude to have someone take time off work, spend money traveling to the location, and then not even bother to reject them. Many companies don't follow up when they say they will, but these guys specifically said they'd be in touch Monday to schedule something. I really thought I had the job and was expecting their call. The account executive I spoke with for the benefits analyst role didn't respond to my voicemails (I left two) on her direct line, which was quite disheartening.
- Tell me about your previous experience as a benefits analyst.
- How open are you to learning new things as you go?
Consultant
It was a group interview with the other members of the team. Each team member discussed their roles and took turns asking questions. It was the most informal interview I've had. It took about an hour.
- Can you introduce yourself and explain why you'd be a good fit for this role?
- What makes you suitable for this position?
Accountant Manager
The interview was about dealing with larger group employee benefit plans. Both interviewers looked at the job description and asked me questions related to where I would fit in best given my experience in the insurance field. The position required a lot of knowledge about the insurance field and understanding of claims analysis.
- Were the questions difficult?
- Were the questions specific to the position?
Recruitment Consultant
The interview process had 3 stages, starting with an assessment center, followed by a meeting with the manager, and then a meet the team session. It was conducted in person and virtually, and included a presentation. It felt quite long with many rounds. The group session had 8 participants.
- Questions focused on sales techniques and strategies.
- Questions related to managing stakeholders.
