First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Haynes & Company.
Field Researcher
I applied on the company website and then got an email from them. We exchanged a few emails, and then scheduled a Zoom interview. It was a pretty relaxed and casual interview, and I got an offer shortly after.
- Can you tell me about your research experience?
Qualitative Researcher
We started with some emails where I got some learning modules about the type of projects I might be working on. After I finished those, we had a one on one Zoom chat.
- Can you introduce yourself? Also, what are your thoughts on freelance/contract work?
- What's your take on freelance/contractual work?
Market Researcher
I sent in my application online and then they emailed me to set up a Skype interview. It was a super short Skype interview, they mostly talked about specific examples and what the job is really like. After the interview, I had to do a pretend "seminar" where they explained a project in detail, and then I had to pass a test on it. This is standard practice for every new project an in-field market researcher takes on, so it was a good way to show me what the job entails.
- Describe how you would measure a merchandise display without using a ruler.
Field Researcher
First we had a video call where I was told about the job and what it entails. Then they reviewed my resume to learn more about me. Lastly, there was a time for both of us to ask questions.
- Can you tell me how much time you can commit and what research experience you have?
