Case Manager
Had a Zoom interview with the HR manager, who was very nice and respectful. They asked about my previous experiences and my motivation for working with immigration. I was then called for a second interview and subsequently offered the remote position.
- What draws you to working in immigration?
- Can you share details about your previous experiences?
- Does the prospect of working remotely suit you?
Immigration Lawyer
The interview process for this immigration legal position in Washington, D.C. was very fast and straightforward. It was a big thumbs up to the Hayman-Woodward recruiting team. They deserve credit for being so quick, especially when most other organizations take weeks to schedule an interview and months to offer a job. Employers seem to think people looking for jobs can just sit around forever waiting for a decision. HW, at least, gets straight to the point and tells you if they want you and how fast they can move. They did offer me the job and expressed great interest, but then fell short on what seemed like a promising association once they gave me a figure: it was flat out below market average for a private law firm, which makes a lot of money. One of the few reasons to endure a private law firm's high-pressure environment is the prospect of high compensation.
- Tell us about your legal skills and background.
- How do you handle pressure?
- Are you a team player?
Immigration Case Manager
The interview process started out nicely. All the interviewers were professional and prompt. I had three rounds of interviews, and was verbally offered the position, and told that I should receive the offer in 24 hours. As I waited for the written offer, I was ghosted, CONSTANTLY FOR WEEKS. At one time, I received a call from one of the people I interviewed with who reassured that the offer was still on and they were sorting out some internal issues. I followed up several times after that. NO RESPONSE WHATSOEVER. So disappointing. It was especially important to communicate if the offer was rescinded for some reason. Ghosting and keeping applicants in limbo is the worst. I expected more professionalism and respect for my time.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- What work have you done so far?
Attorney
First, they looked at my CV, which I sent in via LinkedIn. Then there was an HR interview, followed by an interview with the Partner Interview, and then the Managing Partner interview. They asked questions about my past experience and some behavioral situations. I had several rounds of interviews with people at different levels in the company. The last interview was with a Law Shareholder partner.
- Could you share your immigration experience?
- Do you have examples of ethical behavior?
- What's your background with Business Visas?
