I applied in early October 2024. Hawthorne reached out to schedule a screening interview on November 8. Then, all three interviews happened between Nov 14 and Nov 19th, as they wanted to hire someone by the end of Nov. They sent me a "cultural-index survey" to finish after the last interview, but I haven't heard back about the role even after a few follow-up emails.

After I applied online, a recruiter contacted me. They were nice and set up two interviews. First, I had a one-hour interview with a manager that was basically a Paid Search/Google Ads quiz, which made sense for the role. There was time for questions, but it was mainly a Q&A session. Definitely brush up on your Google Ads knowledge. I then spoke with a Director for about 30 minutes. They were also nice and asked mostly behavioral questions. Things seemed positive, and I was told I'd hear back soon. I expected to hear back in a couple of weeks since they were talking to many candidates. After a month, I followed up, but got no response. Another week went by, still nothing. I called the recruiter, no answer. After two months, I still haven't heard anything. It was disappointing and rude to have such a positive interview experience end with no response at all, even though I understand not everyone gets the job.

First, I had to complete some online tests to check my skills in business letter formatting and writing, plus my Excel abilities. I had to find my own proctor for these tests, which I managed to do through my university. After that, I had a quick Skype chat with someone from HR. It was a really relaxed conversation where we went over what the company does and what my role would involve during the internship.

I first spoke with them at a university job fair, which led to a test involving business communication and Excel skills. Then, I had a phone interview with HR, followed by an onsite interview where I met with a panel consisting of the HR Director, a Manager, and the Technology Lead.
