Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at HashedIn by Deloitte.
Devops Engineer
it was a pooled interview with around 250 college students and only 25 got selected for the 2nd round. I was one of them. The questions were mainly about security and networking, and they finally selected only one candidate.
- Can you discuss networking concepts, including ports, protocols, levels, their functions, and key aspects?
Devops Engineer
The first stage was an online assessment with 30 multiple-choice questions covering networking, computer fundamentals, and programming. After that, I was invited to the office for a technical interview round. The reporting time was 8:15 to 8:30 AM, and I arrived early at 8 AM. Unfortunately, the interview started late, around 10 AM, despite the scheduled start time. There were about 6-8 interviewers for a large group of 50-60 candidates, and the order of interviews seemed random. I ended up being the last one interviewed, at 4:30 PM. The interviewer appeared distracted, scrolling on his phone while asking theoretical questions, which felt like a formality. After another hour of waiting, candidates who didn't proceed were dismissed. The company could have managed the candidate flow better, perhaps by scheduling them over multiple days or in batches, instead of having everyone come at once. They expect punctuality but didn't respect our time. The only upside was the free lunch and snacks provided.
- Questions about networking
- Questions about computer fundamentals
- Questions about basic coding
DevOps Engineer
The interview process was good and easy, and the interview was very nice. We talked about many technologies and discussed cloud, Kubernetes, and Docker, and AWS cloud. We discussed IAC, which tools you use, and how you can control state files.
- How would you go about debugging a Kubernetes cluster in a production environment?
