Behavioral Technical

I had back-to-back online interviews for the same role, but on different teams. It was pretty relaxed and didn't involve many technical questions. Mostly we talked about my previous experiences like co-ops and clubs, and why I was interested in the job. Of course, there were also typical behavioral questions.

First, HR will chat about the company culture, benefits, and ask you some basic questions about your background and experience. Then, you'll interview with management or a director, where you'll answer technical questions about toy design, manufacturing, and project implementation. The interviewer is really experienced, so it's not an easy interview to pass.

Confirmed questions4 questions
  • Could you elaborate on injection molding techniques?
  • How do you go about structure optimization?
  • Can you describe the assembly process?

Behavioral Technical

I was first reached out by an external recruiter who then sent my resume on. Then, I had a phone interview with an internal recruiter. He was late by half an hour with no explanation, but was otherwise professional and asked reasonable questions. After sending in a work sample, an on-site interview was arranged. The first person I met, who would have been my direct manager, spent most of the hour talking and asked very few questions. They gave me a good impression. The next person scheduled wasn't available, so I met with a more senior person in the team instead. This person seemed to be looking at my resume for the first time and maybe didn't know I was coming or see my work sample. They spent a lot of time asking personal, probing questions. Their attitude was dismissive and impatient, one of the worst interview experiences I've had. I wasn't tested on any relevant skills or abilities at any point. I sent a thank-you note the next day but received no follow-up from anyone. The job posting stayed active for months. It's now removed, and I can't tell from LinkedIn if anyone was hired. Three months later, when I wanted to discuss the process with the internal recruiter, they had already moved on to another job.
