It was a skype interview, super casual. I walked through my portfolio and discussed why I was interested in the role and company. We also touched on my strengths and weaknesses. They also asked about my favorite toy.

Technical Presentation

After leaving my resume with a recruiter, I got an unexpected call back for an internship, which seemed to happen quickly. The interview was a conference call with multiple people, mainly led by my future supervisor who asked most of the questions. They reviewed my portfolio link during the call, so it's good to have a computer ready. My skills seemed more important than work experience, maybe because of my supervisor's style. I think they picked me for my well-rounded abilities, how I could help with the specific project, and my memorable personality, including some funny mishaps. They finished by answering my questions about the role and commute. HR called the next day, indicating a fast hiring process with start date flexibility.

Applied online and had an initial HR call. Then, I had a 1-on-1 interview with the hiring manager. A week later, the whole team conducted a panel interview. About a month after that, the HR rep informed me the role was on hold indefinitely, but then they hired someone else in under two months. Very frustrating experience.
