The interview was remote and involved multiple people from different departments. It wasn't a super long process, but you do end up talking to everyone. They really want to hear about your related experience.

I applied online and heard back a few weeks later to set up a phone interview. The hiring manager did this weird modified topgrade thing where she asked me to guess what my bosses from the last 10 years would score me on a 1-10 scale and explain why. When I said '10' for one guy, she freaked and wanted his number, but she already had it from my application. I also had to list my strengths and weaknesses. The manager mentioned they're a great team and have had this job open forever, looking for someone to fit their 'wonderful' group. I think this means they're super picky and can't find anyone, plus other stuff came up. About a week later, I went to their airport HQ for a panel interview with the training director and three other trainers. They took turns asking questions for about an hour. The phone scheduler said it would be topgrade, but it wasn't. When I asked the manager about her leadership style and the ideal employee for it, she got defensive and asked if I was interviewing her. It became clear they really wanted an instructional designer focused solely on e-learning, which wasn't emphasized in the job description. I don't have those skills and wouldn't have applied if I knew it was just instructional design. It was a waste of time for everyone. I'm confused why they focused so much on past bosses' opinions instead of my skills. They *really* care about what previous supervisors think and said they'd call them all. This department seems to think highly of themselves and are butchering the topgrading method. They don't have the resources for real topgrading. The process is flawed, no wonder they can't fill the role. The phone interview didn't screen me properly and they didn't clarify the e-learning focus, even when I asked job specifics. I never heard back, no rejection, no offer, nothing. Very unprofessional.

It was a pretty standard interview process with typical questions about integrity, decision-making skills, and some job aptitude. It was very straightforward and a bit dull.
