The interview process involved a full day of interviews, plus a job talk. I spoke with several different team members, including product managers, analysts, and other research scientists. The atmosphere was professional, welcoming, and structured, and the questions were very in-depth, focusing on method evaluation.

I applied online in September 2021 and heard back in late January 2022. There was one screen call and then one interview call with 4 leaders. The facilitator had trouble with teams and didn't let my video on, so it was a voice-only interview. The interview call had a big group of senior leaders, as they were hiring for 12 positions because they were bringing the work in-house after terminating an outsourced team, which felt like a bad sign. I ended up declining to move forward because of another opportunity.

I applied online and right away got an email to schedule a phone interview for the next day. The phone interview covered the job details and pay, and they asked me about 3 questions, including why I wanted the job. It was a basic screening, and the person was really nice. She offered an in-person interview for two days later. Of course, my car wouldn't start that day, so I ended up being an hour late. I couldn't reach the interviewer, so I called around hoping the message would get to them. When I finally got there, everyone was really understanding, but I was worried I'd blown it. I was interviewed by two women who were both very kind and understanding. They asked basic situational and behavioral questions like, "Tell me about a time you had to tell a customer no or couldn't give them what they wanted," and "What does 'follow through' mean to you?" We shared some laughs; they were so personable and a pleasure to be interviewed by! After that, I went to a computer and typed out why I thought I was the best fit for the job. Then, it was over; she walked me out and then met with her next candidate. About an hour later, the initial phone interviewer called to check in. I told her the interview went well but that I was super late. She shared her own stories about being late and joked around, then said I must have done great because they wanted to offer me the job! I was so surprised and happy! The whole process was great – not stressful, but friendly, and they seemed genuinely interested in finding the right people. You can tell they want good candidates and want you to feel comfortable so they can figure out who's a good fit.

I applied through a third-party site and heard back about a week later about setting up a phone interview. After the phone interview went well, I was invited to an open house. There, I interviewed with two supervisors in a group setting, with others interviewing at the same time at different tables. Then, I was taken to another room to write a summary of a call we listened to. I had to follow up myself weeks later to get an update, but never heard back or received any feedback.

  • Can you share an instance where you had to adjust how you spoke to interact with a customer or client?
  • Tell me about a time you made an error and had to take responsibility for it. What steps did you take to correct it?
