Recruiter
I went through an agency for the hiring process. It wasn't too difficult. They asked me about my past experiences, my computer abilities, and some questions about behavior and hypothetical situations. The interviewers went into a lot of detail about the job itself.
- Have you ever been in a situation at work where your integrity was tested?
- Would you say you are a lucky person?
- What are your thoughts on individuals who arrive late for interviews?
Supervisor
The first interview was a typical phone interview. Then I came in for an in-person interview with HR and the department's director of operations. I was there for about 1.5 hours. They asked about my experience, personality, ideal work environment, and management styles. They then asked me to come back for a second interview. When I arrived for the second interview, I was told that they had checked my references through contacts. The questions this time focused more on my personal achievements and future goals.
- Between body language, tone, and words, which is the most crucial element in communication?
Collection Manager
So I had a phone interview first, the HR guy Paul was really nice. Then I had a face-to-face interview with the HR Director. Turns out the job has more nights and weekends than what was posted. The office looked pretty diverse and had a nice break room. The receptionist was nice too. I got the impression that turnover is high and people on the collection floor don't seem happy. The interview was all about my job history, not really about qualifications.
- What was the revenue of your previous company?
Collections Representative
My recruiter was very friendly and explained the job clearly. They quickly scheduled my interview with the managers for the very next day. I got a good sense of what the job entails, and they extended an offer to me the day after that.
- Can you tell me about your experience with FDCPA regulations?
- Let's do some role-playing for this position.
