I went through a three-day scouting and moving process before this interview, seeking a fresh start after a difficult divorce. The interviewers were mostly silent, seeming inexperienced. Then, I was given a 30-minute skills test on a poorly set up Mac with a broken mouse and no mouse pad to create a logo and brochure. I suspected it was a test of my composure under absurd conditions or a hidden camera prank. I received a rejection before checking out of my hotel, and I'm now a director at a competitor, often sharing this experience with new hires. I advise being professional, prepared, and present, qualities that Harrah's lacked, showing low class.
