First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Harpoon Therapeutics.
General Administrator
The recruiting process was very pushy, seemingly just to meet quotas. The work environment seems crazy. Some interviewers didn't know how to ask the right questions. There was one very rude interviewer who didn't let you ask any questions. I wouldn't work there because of the high turnover.
- It felt like an interrogation!
Associate Director
The company moved quickly through the initial stages, but then really slowed down during the reference check and final decision-making phase. They ended up ghosting me even after getting glowing references, according to the recruiter. I suspect they weren't sure what they were looking for and got stuck in analysis paralysis, possibly due to having too many candidates. They talked to at least one of my references multiple times, asking the same thing in different ways, which frustrated both my reference and the recruiter.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- What attracts you to a small company like Harpoon?
- Given your lack of oncology experience, are you confident you can handle this role at a company with limited infrastructure and processes?
Research Associate
It was an easy phone screen first, then a long in-person interview. Overall, the interview process was pretty average and they got back to me quickly. The staff seemed friendly and it felt like a fast-paced place. The hiring manager was really clear about who I'd report to and what the job would entail.
- Tell me about your previous experience in this field.
- What are your salary expectations?
