I spoke with the CEO who I had worked with before when I was staffing another not for profit in San Diego. Since it was a contract role, we chatted about how my past experiences staffing other member organizations could be a plus for this not for profit. This included things like back office support, administrative staff for the Board of Directors, communications, event planning and coordination, fundraising, bookkeeping, member services, and web/print publications.

If you apply during the summer, they might not get back to you until late July or early August because that's when the organization finds out about staff changes. Then, they'll set up an interview where they'll ask things like "what's the difference between punishment and discipline?" or "how would you handle this situation (a) or (b)?". They might also inquire about your hobbies and what unique skills or personal traits you bring that would make you a great fit for their site.

So we had two interviews that were each 2 to 3 hours long. It wasn't like a typical interview, but like everything else Harmonium does, it was done with purpose. Both times I was given an hour to complete an assignment. Then the CEO and some Executive Team members came in and we discussed the assignment. After that, we had our usual group interview.
