Technical Coding

The interview covered technical primary/secondary skills, framework knowledge, programming knowledge, and current project knowledge. Communication is super important. You must know Git. They asked about Test Management Tool Jenkins, specifically how to track multiple test executions in Java using TestNG or JUnit, using Log4j for logging and reporting, JUnit custom listeners, and TestNG's ITestListener. Docker was also discussed, focusing on its role in packaging applications and dependencies. Basic understanding of how Docker works was expected.

First there was a written test, then a technical interview. They asked questions about selenium and Java and some basic manual testing. The interviewer was nice and didn't ask anything beyond the requirements. After the second round, a different interviewer, a woman, initially spoke unclearly. She then asked questions outside of selenium, Java, and manual testing, such as AWS, Jeter, API, Unix, and cloud. I asked her what profile this was for, and she said she needed someone who could do everything. She also said, "We are not robots." It felt like a total waste of time not mentioning these skills in the job description besides selenium and Java.
