First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Harkins Theatres.
Assistant Manager
Theatres decide if they want to interview you. First you'll interview with the general manager, and then a second interview with the district manager. You can interview with multiple theatres. Usually, you have to be a team leader to be considered.
- Can you describe the characteristics of a poor manager you've encountered?
Assistant Manager
The hiring manager started by asking me to introduce myself. Then, he outlined the interview structure before asking about my knowledge of Harkins Theatres. Following that, he requested details about my prior role, specifically regarding cash handling and inventory experience. He also asked for my definitions of 'professionalism' and 'integrity'. Subsequently, he discussed the job responsibilities, the promotion system, and employee benefits. After I asked a few questions, the interview concluded after about an hour. The interviewer was very professional. We then arranged a phone interview with the district manager.
- Can you share how you've managed a challenging employee who struggled to stay focused in the past?
Assistant Manager
The interviews consisted of an SM, SM and GM, and DM interview. There were a lot of questions involved, but I can't remember what they were. Basically, you need to know how to handle difficult customer/employee situations. If you don't mind the pay, then you'll be set with a job that you might like.
- What is your biggest weakness?
