It was a really laid-back interview, and the company seemed genuinely interested in my practical experience. They wanted to hear about my background and any challenges I've faced when dealing with patients and their families. They also asked about my past experiences working with both managers and other staff nurses.

The interview was pretty fast, chill, and interesting. The manager I spoke with was remote and out of state. They reached out within four days after I sent in my application and resume.

This was a huge waste of time, I don't recommend Happie. It started with two phone screenings, then an in-person interview. The phone calls were pretty standard get-to-know-you chats, one with HR and the other with the department manager. I felt like they rushed me off the phone and didn't give me a chance to ask questions at the end of either. They seemed really interested, but then they set up an in-person interview that was a 2-hour drive for me. They didn't tell me where to park for the in-person interview, so I had to park on a far side street and got a ticket. Turns out they do have a parking lot, but I only found out after the fact. The in-person interview lasted about 2.5 hours and was super disorganized. The schedule I got beforehand with who I was supposed to meet wasn't followed at all. I was supposed to meet the Founder, but she never showed up. I did see her once, though, and she rushed me out of the interview room because she needed it for another meeting. She didn't even introduce herself or acknowledge me, which was very unprofessional. The three people I actually met with seemed really uninterested in anything I had to say. They didn't even seem to understand the role themselves, which was discouraging. After 2.5 hours of this repetitive in-person interview, not counting the long drive, the HR rep rushed me out again and gave me no information about what happens next. I had to email them that evening to find out the next steps. A week later, I got a very generic email saying they went with someone more qualified. They never gave me any indication during the interview that this was the case, especially since they pursued me so hard and never offered any constructive feedback. Seriously, believe the negative reviews about this company, not the positive ones. I'm sure those are fake. They wasted my time and will keep doing it. Don't bother with Happie. I have nothing good to say about their unprofessionalism and will tell everyone I can about this terrible experience.

Behavioral Presentation

So I applied and they got back to me pretty fast for a phone chat. Then I had another call over Skype, and finally, an in-person interview at their office. Since it's a small startup, I actually spoke with the Chief Strategy Officer and the VP of Marketing. The phone calls were mostly about getting to know me – like what I'm doing now, what I enjoy, and what I'm looking for in a company. For the in-person bit, they wanted me to bring something I was working on and they showed me some designs for what they're building and asked how I'd tackle that project. Because they're looking for an early engineering hire, there weren't any super technical questions since I didn't even talk to any engineers or technical leads during the whole thing.
