The interview process started with a brief phone screening, around 6 minutes, where they asked if I knew the job location, about the pay, and confirmed my continued interest. Then I had a video interview scheduled for 20 minutes. This part made me decide not to proceed. The recruiter was late and seemed rushed, not allowing time for my questions about the company. Some questions felt like they were prying into my personal life, disguised as small talk. The whole video interview was about 12 minutes.

The interview process wasn't too bad. They asked questions related to preparing monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc reports for reinsurance on CAT specific losses. They also wanted to see how I'd analyze large claims data sets to make standardized reinsurance reports for management. I also had to help with journal entries for the Ceded Re Property group and prepare payments for settlements like deposit premiums.

I first applied for a different position but wasn't selected. During that conversation, they mentioned two openings that might be a good fit for my skills and asked if I was interested. A former colleague had referred me. Since I wasn't local, they initially planned a Skype interview. However, I happened to be in town for other interviews, so I switched my interview to be in person. The interview covered typical questions about my experience, a couple of behavioral questions, and inquiries about my experience in areas not directly related to the role but potentially applicable. It was a very relaxed and easygoing interview.

After the initial phone interview which was 2 days prior, I was invited for an in-person interview. The interview was primarily technical, making up about 70% of it, with the remaining 30% focused on HR aspects. The technical part covered tire technology, and I felt I handled those questions well. During the HR questioning, they asked if I would be open to relocating to South Korea for a 12-month training period. I was hesitant about this, and I suspect this uncertainty was the key factor in why they didn't proceed with an offer.
