Support Specialist
So first there was a phone screen, then a take-home test. After that, I had an interview with the hiring manager and did a mock call. The last interview was with the CLO.
- An EDU user is asking why employers can't register for their career fair on March 12th. What could be causing this? Show the steps you took in the demo environment to troubleshoot and replicate the issue, including any URLs or resources used, and draft your response to the user.
- The same EDU user asks why a student can't apply for jobs, mentioning they have multiple resumes uploaded. What are the potential reasons? Detail the steps taken in the demo environment to replicate and troubleshoot, including any relevant URLs, and then write your response to the user.
- An EDU user wants to know how to generate a report listing all current students with their names and graduation dates. What might be the cause of this request? Outline the troubleshooting and replication steps performed in the demo environment, citing any URLs or resources consulted, and then compose your response to the user.
Support Specialist
I applied for their remote Support Specialist contract job and got sent a 2-hour take-home assessment, and then was declined all within two days, so I appreciated the speedy responses. Unfortunately, the take-home assessment was a massive waste of time. I was sent a demo of their web software and a link to their knowledge base and told to answer six questions that I'd likely see as a Support Specialist. Unfortunately, the document was a .pdf (you're stuck copying/pasting your answers or converting the .pdf to another format just to answer), they wanted screenshots instead of explanations (uploading 6+ screenshots or having to attach them to your answers is rather ridiculous), I received no feedback afterward, and it wasn't even a test of finding the correct answers. An exercise to understand how candidates think could have easily been accomplished in a 30-minute phone interview, not having them faff about software you have no understanding of. Your only saving grace is above-average documentation. Handshake seems like a decent company, but their interview process needs an overhaul.
- Can you check permissions for a student who is unable to see appointments?
Premium Support Specialist
You will start with a take home project, then meet with hiring managers to discuss role requirements and assess mutual fit. They'll want to hear about your strengths, weaknesses, past experiences, and qualifications. After that, the hiring managers will review everything and send an offer decision by email.
- Can you tell me about your career aspirations?
