First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Handshake.
Sales Development Representative
The interview process was really long and the interviewers were always late. It started with a recruiter call, then another 30-minute call with the recruiter. After that, there was a one-on-one interview, followed by a two-hour panel interview with several people. Before the last round, I had to complete an assignment. It felt like a lot of wasted time and effort, and I think they could have cut the number of rounds in half.
- What makes you want to join Handshake?
SDR Manager
The interview process moved really quickly, it felt like they needed to fill the role urgently. I didn't have much time to look into what they offered, which I guess is typical startup life.
- What are your thoughts on our company's mission?
Sales Development Representative
It started with a 30 minute phone call with the hiring manager. Then, I had a 2.5 hour onsite interview day. This included a 30 minute chat with the SDR team, a 1 hour lunch interview with an Account Executive and someone from University success, and a final 30 minute meeting with the manager. The day before the onsite, HR called to prep me on what to expect. They really stressed cultural fit and passion for the mission.
