First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Hancock Askew.
Staff Accountant
The interview process normally includes resume screening, an initial phone screen, in-person interviews to evaluate skills and cultural fit, then reference checks and a final decision. Following that, we had a talk about my course.
- What are you currently studying?
Senior Tax Accountant
I spoke with their HR manager on the phone, and not long after that, I had an in-person meeting at their Miami office where I met with their management team. After the interview, I sent them a thank you email, and it took them a few days to get back to me.
- Can you describe your previous work experience?
- What aspects of tax work do you find appealing?
Intern
The interview was over the phone. It wasn't very technical, focusing more on my interests, passions, and experience. I'd suggest looking into the available positions before the call. It was a great experience overall.
- Why are you interested in the opportunities at this firm?
Tax Senior
I applied from out of state and my first conversation was with the Managing Partner. Then I was asked to interview in person. They made the entire process extremely smooth and stress free. I could not have asked for a better experience. I felt the entire staff was friendly and professional and felt good about where they work. I would not have hesitated to accept the position if I had ended up selecting the Savannah area to relocate. I ended up settling in a nearby town for family reasons.
- Can you describe the exact nature of your experience?
- Which area of tax/accounting are you most interested in pursuing?
- There was an online personality assessment that would look at how well you 'play in the sandbox'.
