First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Hamilton College - New York.
Student Assistant
It was a pretty simple interview process. There was just one round where current interns and supervisors chatted with you and asked some questions. About two weeks after that, I got an email saying I got the job.
- Tell me about your experience with statistical modeling.
Director of Salesforce Product Management
So there were like 4 virtual and 6 in-person interviews, and they also did 2-3 referral feedbacks in the mix. Everyone was pretty open about their thoughts and what they are looking for in this role. Overall, it was a really smooth and helpful experience.
- Considering all the challenges mentioned, how confident do you feel about stepping into this position?
Staff
I interviewed for a staff position at a cultural org on campus. It started with a phone interview, which was more in-depth than usual, followed by a full day of in-person interviews at the office. The overall experience was positive; the interviewers were friendly, showed me around, and I met potential colleagues, which helped me decide if I was interested. They were also helpful with travel arrangements since I was coming from out of state. What's disappointing is not hearing back from the hiring manager or HR after investing so much time, especially with travel. While I know ghosting is common, it's still disrespectful not to inform candidates of the outcome or at least thank them for their time.

Help Desk Assistant
I was first contacted and had my first interview with the manager of the team before the series of interviews. it was a whole business day of interviews, each interview containing a group of 4 or 5 people in separate teams. I heard back from them within two weeks, which was pretty quick. The interview process was pretty standard, so as long as you prepare for the questions, you'll be fine.
