HR screening was kinda weird. They said they'd already reviewed my resume, so I didn't need to explain my background. But then they asked a ton of questions about specific software and platforms that I wouldn't know if they understood my background. They also asked MANY questions about why I was so interested in the company. I get one question like that, but it felt like they wanted a whole deep dive into the company's history before I even got past HR. Strange vibes all around.

So for the internship, the process was pretty straightforward. I think it's basically the same for full-time folks too. I handed my resume to an HR person at the career fair and then got an email asking for times for a phone screen. We scheduled it, and then I had the screening where they asked basic stuff about my education, past jobs, and any skills I thought would be useful. After that, I got an in-person interview. It was four 1-on-1s. First was HR, just giving a quick company overview. Then two Product Engineers from the team I might join, and finally, the Manager of that team. If they liked me, they'd call to offer me the job.

The whole process took about 2 weeks. It started with a screening call with the third-party recruiter. Then there were two interview rounds with the team. The first round was with a senior manager from the Canadian team and it was great. It was a very direct interview where we discussed the job details, and it felt very transparent and respectful. The final round was with a senior director from the American team, and it was a bit confusing. The interview was full of generic questions like how you handle project management and time management, etc. It seemed like the director hadn't read my resume or didn't really know the specifics of the job.

The interview process began with an HR recruiter, followed by a meeting with the GM. The third round involved the DOS/KAM and Forecast Analysis, but their questioning felt superficial and disengaged. I also sensed age bias due to their surprise at my career history. For the final interview, I prepared and delivered a presentation. After the fourth interview, I waited two weeks for an update from HR, who were polite but unable to provide a decision. Ultimately, I received a generic rejection email. It seems they might have sought free advice rather than a candidate. A lesson learned, though their handling of the final stages was unprofessional. Be cautious if they request a store walk interview.
